A circle of study is expanding
The 4th graders study on the treatment of garbage coming out of our daily life in social studies. So we went to Naka factory to find out what kind of ingenuity and effort the people work on site. It seemed that the consciousness of the importance of separate garbage collection and garbage reduction increased by looking at the factory that we had learned beforehand. The 2nd graders went to various shops, facilities, hospitals and the like in Hesaka to interview about their stories in a class of life environmental studies called 'Hesaka no machi wo shirou (Let's learn of our local community)'. The school district is surrounded by hills to the east, south and west, and the Ota-gawa River runs north of the school. The JR Geibi Line runs at the foot of the eastern hills, a prefectural road runs along the Ota-gawa River, and another prefectural road runs through the center of the district from north to south. This district used to be an old, agricultural area blessed with the clear water of the Ota-gawa River, where people with kind heart had lived. Since around 1955, the area has been developed as a bedroom town of people commuting to downtown Hiroshima. Since around 1962, when the district was designated as “residential area,” numerous large housing complexes have been quickly built. As more and more new residential houses, condominiums, and shops were built, the landscape of the district changed.
